Hey, it’s back to familiar territory! Personally, Zangarmarsh is my favorite zone in Outlands. The colours and environment is just so peaceful and soothing.
Writing dialogue for Four can be tough, and I admit I struggled a bit with this page. She’s guarded, with a peculiar manner of speaking. This was a LOT for her to say. But I think it turned out well, and maybe explains a bit about her and just how she ended up with a Black Dragon for an employer.
omg I love that tattooed night elf. The rest too, but that especially.
WTB tattoos in the character customization screen!
I love the upscaling of distance. Game mechanic wise it doesn’t make sense to have zones that take a day or more to traverse, but in reality the world would need to be massive for all its variety. I really like how you’ve quietly defined just what a huge under-taking all that travel really is.
Plus it makes for great character development and exposition moments ^_^
It’s one of the reasons they don’t use flying mounts for long-distance travel, too. 🙂
And there’s an interesting look on Wrathion’s face at the bottom…could it be maybe he’s not as open with Four as she thought?
or that maybe he didn’t really realize just what it meant to HER?
Hmm, I wonder if this little trip for Four will lead to finding a home?
I don’t think that is what she’s looking for, even if she likes being emplayed by Wrathion, but perhaps she will find it-
Wait, are they going to visit Outland again? Ogri’la ought to appreciate someone who can read and speak well. And fight smart.
Also, love the heart with ‘Elune’ in it on that tattooed night elf. 😛
Also also, Wrathion, what are you thinking, you sneaky little wyrm?
From the look on his face, and what he is, I’d say he might be feeling like he’s looking into a mirror with her. All dragons make strange plans, but because he is a black dragon, few will trust HIS. From before he was out of his egg, the very people curing him never thought of him as more than a weapon, because of what he is. And when he wanted to forge his own destiny, after wiping out his own kind, the Red Dragonflight responded with a massive show of force.
Of course, that’s me being optimistic, considering certain events at a certain temple.
A mirror… yes, I can see that in some ways. Though I don’t think that was the only reason he hired her.
Makes me wonder about the other Black Prince guards and what their stories are.
Are they also misfits?
They are pretty similar, aren’t they? 🙂
And Wrathion’s Blacktalons do tend to be a broad mix of races. There’s Right and Left, of course, but even the unnamed agents have some variety to them. This was a factor we took into account when writing the script!
Hah, ‘are they going back to Outland?’.
I missed the very first text panel saying ‘Zangarmarsh’. Was too focused on the characters.
I’ll be in the corner with a dunce cap.
