Yeah, no…you do NOT slap your child like that.
We absolutely agree – it wasn’t a scene we included easily! But although we definitely do not condone this type of behavior, we felt it a believable (if awful) reaction for Vid’s mom to have, given her state and what she’s experienced. That still doesn’t excuse or justify it though, of course.
Oh totally understood! Not chewing out you or Vid (and I hope I didn’t come off like that), but it did touch a wee bit of a nerve — which in terms of storytelling is a good thing.
