Y’know, I asked Vid to do something special artistically for the middle two panels, and HOLY CRAP did she nail it! Those panels might be my favorite artwork in all of FDWL so far.
Next week will mark the end of our first chapter! (Will all chapters be the same length? We don’t know yet.) We hope you’ve been enjoying the story so far! Now that we’ve laid the groundwork, it’s time to get this show on the road! /rubs hands eagerly
Next stop: DRAENOR.
Very emotive indeed.
Have to wonder though, especially in light of what happened, do they consider Outland their home – or just the place where they were born?
With the event of the rise of the Horde I could see them considering a place on Azeroth their home.
Or have they made lives and homes on Outland for themselves during the BC days?
Those two middle panels are *so* evocative. Bravo, Vid!
Totally agree, I wanted to hug both of them ?
I want to hug them both so much too!!
WOW! I wonder how Vidyala and Rades will react when they go back to Draenor in WoD and confront the ghosts of their pasts?
I love this story, keep up the good work!
Or are their adventuring a conscious or unconscious choice so they can avoid settling down somewhere?
If you don’t have a (permanent) home, you can’t loose it.
Flawed reasoning of course, but certainly possible give the trauma.
I’m loving the story so far, but then I’m a long-time fan of this space and you two. Can’t wait to see what lies ahead.
But mostly, I want to know how soon after all of the chapters are complete can I buy this story in actual print? 😛 I want this in book form so badly.
We would like to! We haven’t looked into things too much yet but we are making sure our files are print-ready just in case. 🙂
My office just got really dusty while I was reading the middle panels.
Haunting on multiple levels.
The onion ninjas hit me right as I looked at the 2 middle panels. Well done!
That is so evocative and emotional -you completely captured my characters’ sense of the future anxiety…
Love it.
I rarely comment, but this was a really powerful comic! Great work you guys.
That was beautiful. I don’t think I’ve ever felt sympathetic to an orc before. Good job.
I’m saying this on top of everything from D&D–
ALL.
THE.
FEELS.
